Blaze has been kicked out of The Pack of Bubbling Tar because of a rumor spread by the Alpha Male, Hearth. Moon has been an Undesirable for a while, banished from The Pack of Glistening Snow for being unfaithful to the pack. They meet in the territory of the mysteriously disappeared Pack of Graceful Swimmers, both guided by a sign from Helius, the god of prophecy and one of The Ancients, an old pack of wolves guarding the island the wolves live on. Both Undesirables agree to team up to seek revenge on the wolf who caused both of their misfortunes: Hearth. Tensions rise as the tide does. The missing pack is on everybody's mind and aggressions begin to show. Moon and Blaze are having a harder and harder time being Undesirables, and Hearth's power is growing gradually.
