Aspen is the princess of Qeralle, however, in a family of immortal shapeshifters, she feels out of place and less. Not to mention the whole world is full of supernaturals, not one is without a gift. It doesn't help that Fabian, prince of Rendaa, treats her as less and doesn't seem to keen on the idea of a regular mortal being part of a royal family, or even part of this world. However, when disaster strikes and a series of storms sends Qeralle's walls crashing down, leaving almost everyone dead and the rest severely injured, Aspen and Fabian are forced to join together to find their families and save their kingdoms.
