Alana Cresswell is depressed. She has been ever since her father died and her mom shut her out. She only sees the bad in life and would sooner welcome death. She has been struggling for so long that she no long realizes that life should be better. There is support around her, but she refuses to reach out and take it. One day her eyes are opened up to hope and she has fleeting moments of happiness until reality slams into her again. Her dear little brother is mute and gets bullied daily for it. Her main goal in life is to help him survive and be happy. All she wishes for is for Benji to have a better childhood than she did. When things do not improve and she continues to only see the bad she questions why she should try anymore. She only fights for the sake of her brother and out of fear of what would happen to him if she wasn't around anymore. But what happens when she can no longer protect him from the truth of the world?
