Reaper

Vera Waters finds herself staving and homeless on the streets of Brooklyn, after managing to escape her abusive husband. Almost dead, she doesn't question it, when a strange man offers her help. She doesn't question his conditions either-- after all, what harm is there in working for him for a while?

Next thing Vera knows, she's waking up in a leaky basement, with a stabbing headache. Her eyes are as black as night, and the mysterious stranger, Evan, is now telling her that she's a supernatural creature-- a demon to be exact.

Vera is soon initiated into Evan's notorious gang of demons, and out-lawed supernaturals. With the promise of safety, Vera is willing to do anything to keep her place in the gang-- but is murder one of those things?
