It has been ten generations since Darmund the Conqueror claimed the continent of Asaya for the Fold, and appointed a small group of noble families to rule over all who lived there. Now, as new hardships burden the realm and old wounds fester in private, tension is escalating between the nobles, the families who serve them, the commoners who struggle to produce enough to meet the demands of the realm, and the clans who were driven into hiding following Darmund's war. Alliances are few and frail, and trust between the houses and those who serve them is dangerously eroded.
