We all know Sophie Foster's story. How she was carefully created to be the difference her world needed. But what if the Black Swan had made a few too many mistakes along the way? This is a story about what would have happened if Project Moonlark had been labelled a fail and been given up on, only to be turned back to when times got desperate.
There will be spoilers in this, but I will mention spoilers from Legacy before they come. Art is not mine unless I say so. And of course, this series belongs to Shannon Messenger.

What with helping Sheriff Fintan track the Neverseen AND the notorious bandit that calls himself The Moonlark, and dealing with his little sister, its hard work for a seventeen year old. Then you know, just add on the fact that his parents have him try to become friends with a girl who is well known for being a rebel it gets even harder. Sophie Foster's a tough girl. She's dealt with missions, being kidnapped all by herself, being a secret bandit, you know the usual stuff a fifteen year old girl gets into. She found her own way into the world she belonged in. Sure it might be messed up and biased but it was still her world and she was determined to protect it. Others might criticize her methods but hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. But then her parents decide to mess everything up and make her become friends with the royals she, oh so despises, things get a little... chaotic. Sophie Foster. An outcast. No one would've thought that Sophie would become hated by the friends she loved so much, but their feelings weren't mutual. She was kind though, and their hate fueled her to defeat the Neverseen, once and for all. But that didn't banish their hate. They still hated her. So, she did what any sensible person would do, she ran away. She made a new life in the forbidden cities, one that got turned upside down when a certain someone comes along. Cover by Emma! Keeper of the Lost Cities: The Second Moonlark (a KOTLC/MLB crossover)
The Black Swan had kept everyone in the dark for fourteen years. Sure, they had kept Sophie Foster from the Lost Cities for twelve years, but they had another large secret that had gone on for even longer. You see, the Black Swan had been prepared. Like with the two Forkles, the shadowy organization had a trick up its sleeve... And it was all discovered thanks to Keefe Sencen running away to the Forbidden Cities. He winds up in Paris, France, and soon finds himself meeting none other than Adrien Agreste. However, Adrien himself has been plagued with nightmares, being haunted by places and things he doesn't know about, but yet can feel a sense of familiarity and home with the images. What's even stranger than that? Other than Keefe, he's beginning to hear voices. Not just physical voices. Their mental voices. Because the Black Swan had made a second moonlark. Continuing right after "Unlocked," "The Second Moonlark" forces everyone to begin to question everything around them, including their own identities.
