Audrey Denali was a beautiful Native American girl. She was wise beyond her years. She was actually quite smart; graduating high school by the age of fifteen. One thing about Audrey that everyone should know, was that she had secrets. The secrets were kept between her and her mother, Odina.
When Audrey was eighteen years old, she was attacked by a man while out with her friends. The man was later captured, after he had apparently attacked three other girls. Unlike the other girls, Audrey fell pregnant. The pregnancy wasn't easy, nor was it easy to hide from anyone else on the reservation, but she and her mother were able to keep the secret.
When the pregnancy was no longer able to be hidden, Odina decided it was time for Audrey to branch out on her own. Instead of staying on the reservation, Audrey decided to find herself a home in the city. She figured if she got away from the reservation, she could find herself a boyfriend and be able to hide what happened to her. Everyone on the reservation would've accepted her son, but she felt ashamed of herself, so she couldn't make herself stay.
Mateo Ezra Denali was born right after Audrey's nineteenth birthday. Audrey loved Mateo more than anything, even though she had to leave her home to raise him. He was her whole world, even at times when her world seemed to be crashing around her. A year later, when Audrey and Mateo were on their way home from the park, they were grabbed by a man who had been kidnapping women and their babies.
The BAU had to work together fast to save Mateo and Audrey before the unsub had a chance to kill them. During the time they were trying to find the unsub and the people he captured, Garcia uncovers secrets the team never seen coming...
