"I can't do this..."she whispered to herself in the dark. Her hands trembled as she clutched the gun with both hands. She could hear her heart thumping against her ribs, as she drew in shallow breaths. The sound of the doorknob rattling echoed through the suite. Taking a few steps back, she tightened her hold on the gun, preparing herself to shoot the newcomer as soon as he opened the door. "Destiny..." Turning the lights on, he called out her name. "Don't move Logan!" She warned, placing her index on the trigger. "Destiny, what's wrong? Where did you find the gun? " he sighed, he was unbelievably calm and that irritated her. She wanted him to be scared or at least nervous that someone was holding him at gun point. "I have to do this, Logan. I have to do this for myself !" She cried desperately. "Destiny, listen to me. You don't have to do this. Ok? We can talk it out. Ok?" He said in a voice so soft, it held the power to melt her heart. He took a few calculated steps towards her. "Just...put the gun down, Destiny." he slightly raised both his hands indicating that he didn't mean to harm her. He took another step towards her. Making her stumble back in fear. "D..don't c..come near me. Logan," She croaked out. Tears steamed down her flushed cheeks. "Or I'll shoot you!" She almost screamed out. "Des-" he was about to take another step towards her when suddenly a loud gunshot echoed through out the room making him stop in his tracks. His eyes widened as he saw dark red blood soak Destiny's front. Her eyes widened as well, from the shock and pain. ~@shayra57 (feel free to DM me if you have any inquiries about anything related to the story) thanks for clicking on my book. "Come in", a deep, low masculine voice responded. Aastha hesitated for a second before pushing the door because she was really nervous. Really nervous means really very nervous. But the moment her eyes met the man siting behind the desk, a shiver ran down in her spine. "You seem nervous", he whispered. Aastha's mind had gone blank as he leaned in slightly, his lips barely inches away from her ear. She tried to push him away, pressing her hands against his chest, but he was strong - too strong. "Remember, we're going to see each other often now." His held her wrist lightly, a touch that sent an electrifying sensation in her body. "And I", he continued, "don't forget things easily." He removed his fingers from her wrist, he moves back a step away, to give her path. "That will be all, Ms. Aastha Mehra, you can leave." Without uttering a word, she walked out of the office as fast as she could without running. She didn't know what past is his talking about, one thing she strongly agreed that, 'Fate wasn't just playing with her life - it was perhaps about to turn everything upside down'.
