"I love you. Be careful... Please." Harry says in a soft, gentle tone. I smile a soft smile, agreeing that I will and telling him I love him more. He hangs up the phone, leaving me to get ready for our big day. Harry was already down in New York with his groomsmen, due to a bachelor party Ashton had thrown for him. I was still in Albany, gathering my stuff for the wedding and heading down to our old home in New York, New York. We both thought it would be easier for us to go down there, closer to our family and friends, instead of them having to drive for 3 hours then being stuck in Albany for a while. I had nearly put all my stuff away in the trunk and hung my wedding dress on the hook in the back seat of my Mini Cooper. I had jumped into the drivers seat and was soon on my way. Harry's POV The last time I talked to Amanda was almost 5 hours ago... She should be in New York by now, right? I tried calling her phone multiple times, but it went straight to voicemail. I was beginning to panic. Why didn't I just skip that damn bachelor party and stay with her? I combed my fingers through my hair out of stress when my phone buzzed. Instantly thinking it was Amanda, I answered it. "Are you Harry Styles?" A man said through the speaker. What's going on? "This is the New York Fire and Police department. We would like to inform you that Amanda has been in a severe accident." (A.U~ Alternate Universe)

BOOK 1 OF 3 - "Violet." Harry's voice stops me in my tracks, a shiver snaking up my spine at the steady tone he always seems to carry. I slowly turn back around to face him, our eyes meeting in the dark cab, the only light coming from a street lamp above the car. "Are you al-" He starts to ask that same goddamn question. "Don't." I cut him off. "Don't you ask me that again. Okay? I don't even know you." Harry doesn't say anything and lets me open the door to get out of the car. "That cut wasn't there this morning." He states matter of factly. "What?" I duck my head back down into the cab to look at him again. "Em told me your story about how you split your lip." He looks deeply into my eyes and I'm suddenly self conscious about how attentively he's looking at me . "Unless I missed you sneaking off to play volleyball during work, that was not there before that pompous asshole boyfriend of yours showed up." My mouth falls open slightly, not knowing what to say in response to him calling me out so blatantly. Nothing he's saying is accusatory toward me, he just obviously doesn't believe a single thing I've said. And he's right. They're all lies. I shut the door in his face, my solution for not having a response. I turn around to walk toward my house, a little shaken by this interaction with a perfect stranger who saw right through my bullshit immediately. I hear Harry's car roar back to life as I attempt to unlock the front door with slightly trembling hands. The lack of sleep, drama with Johnny and the conversation I just had with Harry is proving to be too much for one day. I finally unlock the door to push it open, and I turn my head to watch Harry speed off down my street and out of sight. ----------------------------- TW: VIOLENCE, UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, BODY IMAGE ISSUES, ANXIETY, SEXUAL CONTENT, MATURE Any and all instances depicted are a complete work of fiction.
