Jack Barakat ended his own life eight years ago at the young age of nineteen.

Or... that was the common belief, anyway.

Alex Gaskarth was left to deal with the heartbreak that was destined to haunt him every time winter came around, every time he heard a guitar, and, truthfully, with every breath that entered his lungs. Jack was painted on everything in Alex's mind. His hands felt cold without Jack's fingers intertwined with his; his lips felt useless without Jack's pressed against them; his heart felt empty without Jack's love there to fill it.

Until, given some time and some good friends, everything changes.
