When someone mentions high school, you think of parties or under-the-radar romances, spoken in a cautious whisper as to not trip any of the haters into spreading rumours about you. Again. 
But the reality is that high school is a tall, empty building for a lot of sad people, and, well, the truth of it is that we know one too many who want out; out of the ridicule classified as education, out of the bus to home, and in their room where they sit down and write for the last time. 
I've met people like that, befriended them even. 
And it's killing me.
