Rayne was only 15 when the ship carrying her and her parents was swallowed by the waves. Washed up on the shore of an island far from home, Rayne finds herself without friends in an unfamiliar world. There are fire-breathing creatures she has never seen.

However, they farther they go, the more they find truths Rayne would rather not know, and enemies she didn't create. After being rescued by people who called themselves Grimborns, Rayne finds herself confused about their true motive.
