Equestria is invaded by an ancient evil, more powerful and dangerous than anything it has faced. Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends must embark on a quest to defeat this ancient enemy, and in so doing, discover all they can about its' origins. While on the home front, their friends, families and allies must struggle to survive against the onslaught of this ancient and terrible foe.
