Fresh from an abused Wildlife Pound, Acrea, a stoat(similar to a weasel), wanders around a swamp in the Winter Season. Ashamed of only caring for herself, Acrea describes the animal she is as worthless, and someone who should just...die. While she is out finding ways of committing suicide, however, she meets a friendly and hyper Rabbitfur, a stoat like herself and a fellow member of a clan who uses Water type magic called 'Watera'. She joins the clan in hope for finding a better reason for herself, but a nearby danger threatens the Dewdrops. She also soon finds out a terrible, heart-wrenching secret that changes the acquainted relationship she has with her new friends into something deeper. Will Acrea be able to save her clan and her precious bonds from the animal whom she would shed blood with?
