A thriller exploring the deprivation of the criminal mind, manipulated by repeated abuse as a child and into a young adult.
The abused becomes the abuser as he strips away morals and ethics from his actions, justified by the thought that he is ridding society of the weak and repulsive like his mother; a rag doll, to be thrown into the trash, unwanted, unclaimed and unloved.

Brilliant Criminologist Professor R. Lockwood holds a research tenure on how to manipulate drug-induced amnesia to build not only his perfect family but a perfect society. His research crisscrosses law enforcement into the slums, privileged homes and into the back lands of the rural mountains and forests intertwining his life with twin brothers Thomas and Adam Wilson. Darkness is always there; he permeates the story with self-doubt and hatred.

Women, prostitutes, called "Rag Dolls" who have young children, babies, are disappearing, being taken off the streets under cover of darkness. When these "Rag Dolls" begin turning up dead, it is first classed as suicide from a drug overdose, then later investigated as murder by a new drug on the streets; a drug that induces memory loss.

Adam Wilson is the perfect suspect, living a hidden life as a mercenary, killing for gain. Extremely fit, ex-military, his extreme training has equipped him with the skills to carry out crimes undetected. Law enforcement with the help of Lockwood begin to profile him as the serial killer of the Rag Dolls.
As Adam is dragged deeper into the murders, the darkness of the crimes, events spiral out-of-control and he begins to unravel the mystery behind mask of Darkness and Professor R. Lockwood.
