Nearly six years ago, at the age of ten, Roman Solace was arrested and admitted into the HPSC's Villain Rehabilitation Program―or VRP for short. There, sitting in his room at the VRP, Roman made a promise to a girl who was no longer around to hear it. He vowed to become the best possible hero he could be, and he promised to dedicate the rest of his life to saving the people that she wouldn't be able to save. He promised to live for her. Now though, when Roman is sent to UA with little more than a pat on the back and a class schedule, things begin to unravel, and the HPSC's unimpeachable and irreproachable mask starts to slip. Unfortunately for Roman, he's at the forefront of everything. ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ'ꜱ ᴀ ꜰɪɴᴇ ʟɪɴᴇ ʙᴇᴛᴡᴇᴇɴ ᴍᴜʀᴅᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ꜱᴇʟꜰ ᴅᴇꜰᴇɴꜱᴇ. ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ'ꜱ ᴀ ꜰɪɴᴇ ʟɪɴᴇ ʙᴇᴛᴡᴇᴇɴ ᴏʙᴇᴅɪᴇɴᴄᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ꜱᴜʙᴍɪꜱꜱꜱɪᴏɴ. ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ'ꜱ ᴀ ꜰɪɴᴇ ʟɪɴᴇ ʙᴇᴛᴡᴇᴇɴ ᴛʀᴜꜱᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ɴᴀɪᴠᴇᴛʏ. ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ'ꜱ ᴀ ꜰɪɴᴇ ʟɪɴᴇ ʙᴇᴛᴡᴇᴇɴ ʙʀᴀᴠᴇʀʏ ᴀɴᴅ ꜱᴜɪᴄɪᴅᴇ. ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʟʟ ᴏꜰ ʀᴏᴍᴀɴ'ꜱ ʟɪɴᴇꜱ ᴀʀᴇ ʙʟᴜʀʀᴇᴅ. ⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽ 𓅇 ☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅ 𝑪𝑾𝒔 & 𝑬𝑿𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑺 OC replaces Hagakure. cw: child abuse, domestic abuse, implied/referenced SA, graphic depictions of violence, implied/referenced human trafficking, self harm/suicide, implied/referenced drug use extra tags: m/m (bxb) main pairing, HPSC bashing/corrupt HPSC, quirk discrimination, erasermic NO GenAI USED IN ANY PART OF THIS FIC! -- #1 in bokunoheroacademia 7/22/25
