Following the Fall of Beacon, Team RWBY has diverged paths following the departure and disappearance of Blake Belladonna. While Yang stays in Patch to recover following the loss of her arm, Ruby begins her journey to Haven with the remaining members of Team JNPR; Jaune, Nora and Ren to seek answers for Beacon's Destruction and the death of Pyrrha Nikos, which still haunts Ruby as she had watched her friend die at the hands of the malevolent Cinder Fall.
While Ruby travels to Haven, Blake is on a boat back to Menagerie, looking to go home to settle some personal matters. During this time, Weiss runs away from home, reported missing by her family and stows aboard an airship to Mistral, where fate sets her on a collision course with Blake.
