Trains. Magnificent machines used to transport people or goods across countries. The year is 1814, and it is days before trains had been invented, and people are going wild. But, not everything seems to add up, and something about them begins to become suspicious to one, very specific boy.

Meet 15 year old Jacob Wright, a charming mischief maker, a sarcasm enthusiast, and a major flirt. Once being a simple paper boy, he suddenly becomes recruited to becoming a world class train attendant.Unexplainable things keep happening along the journeys that make Jacob question this 'magnificent machine', and leads him to investigate further.

Along the way he meets Alice Adams. She is a secretive girl with convincing lies, and some charm of her own. They both find themselves entangled in a series of exciting events, that makes the mystery a whole lot sweeter while being more dangerous and adventurous that either of them never expected.
