The war taught Emily Smith that someone will always be one step ahead. Lives of men are expendable and those that didn't die on the battlefield had lost their souls and returned empty to their families. She was no different. 

Her life before the war wasn't simple or easy but it was HER life. You could hear the laughter from the children playing in the streets but now all that is heard is bombs and gun shots. The cries of wounded soldiers. Its like a broken record that never stopped. Never.

But then she returns home and everything changes as her time in the war catches up to her. And a certain blue eyed man quiets the guns and screams in her mind.
