Neophyte

After the world is devastated by what seems to be an unknown virus, only those that are strong enough to survive mentally and physically can make it through this nightmarish hell.

One day a man left his family for business, just trying to make a better living for them. Once he learns that the apocalypse is near he tries to make it back to his wife and child. He makes it back, but to no avail. When he gets home the blood stains on the floor and walls tell it all. Heart broken he sets out to the deepest areas of the outbreak looking for others that may have been left behind, with one resolve, save them. He begins trying to figure out what the "virus" is and how to cure it taking any challenge that would approach him head on.

The government isn't quite destroyed though and finds out about this man and wants to help him. They work with him to re-establish any settlements that were destroyed and to find a cure. A year passes and the country now has the whole thing contained in a five state wide quarantine area.

The man then comes across a girl who has managed to survive on her own. Working together they might find the answers to the questions: What is behind all this? Is there a cure? Can it happen again? And, how much longer do we have to suffer?
