Fourteen-year-old Nicole Videns's day consists of waking up to slobbery kisses, facing malicious teachers, and holding the position as the school's punching bag and scapegoat. With an absentee as a father and a mother who was murdered, life is as plain as it can be. But just like any good story, the climax of Nicole's is right around the corner where she least expects it. 

When Dallas Amicus enters Nicole's classroom, little does the fourteen-year-old know everything is about to change. Or maybe it was this way all along, except finally the blindfold was taken off.
