Some changes come unexpectedly. But the rules of society are clear: Dakots who are not slaves are criminals. Glastens are the enemy of the kingdom. Half breeds are abominations. Nobles rule the people. Those who owe a debt, must pay it in full. And any woman with orange eyes means she lives a life of prostitution.
And nothing can ever change these unspoken laws.
However, there are those that dare to challenge the norms, who dare to rise up and build a backwards kingdom out of their fire and grit. There are those who dare to break societal rules and show the masses that even the most filthy can rise above their naysayers.
Not every Dakot is inherently inhuman.
Not every Glasten is an enemy out to destroy the kingdom.
Not every half breed is meant to never exist.
Not every whore is meant to be an object of lust.
Not every slave is meant to serve another against their will.
And not every underdog is meant to stay down.
This is the story of humans and monsters.
And this is the story of how they are made.
