Although, to his satisfaction, he swallowed any stupid comments or sounds. Except one- "You look like a chipmunk." Lance laughed, ruffling Keith's hair before disappearing out of the door and into the hallway. "Hey!" He shouted, tripping over his own feet as he scrambled upwards. The door clicked shut softly. Lance begins work and a local grocery store and bumps into Keith- who happens to live in the same apartment building. They begin as rivals, become friends, and- after more than a little assistance from Pidge, Hunk, and Shiro- end up as lovers. Welp, I made my first book on this site. In this book Pidge is non-binary because I like the headcannon. I do not own Voltron, I am simply making a fanfiction with the characters from it. Cover art is done by Ikimaru. "I love you." He stammered, voice breaking between sobs. "I love you, Keith. So much." Keith's heart skipped a beat, or maybe blatantly stopped. He couldn't believe Lance had just said that -he pondered on the possibility of having misheard him- but his voice had sounded so honest and so painfully hurt, he knew there was no way Lance's words weren't true. The honesty dripping from his drunk-stained words left Keith breathless. He never thought he'd live to hear those words coming from Lance, he was certain he would never love him back, he thought he liked Kinkade, as much as it pissed him off the idea. As humans, you have to fight irrelevance. There are seven billion humans on Earth, approximately. Every time someone dies, someone is born to replace them, to mask the pain of loss. You, as one person, do not exist to around six billion, nine hundred ninety-nine million, nine hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred ninety-five people, if you are truly loved by five persons. Luck of the draw, life on Earth is. At least, that's what the human species chooses to believe. Now, knowing more alien species exist than human races, Lance feels suffocated. He has to fight even more for that little bit of relevance, to get acknowledged. Their faces forever burned in his mind. Just as burned as the old country house he used to live in. His parents. The smoke. The Smoke. The Fire. That Damn Fire. The roof of their old farmhouse collapsing, closing off the exit. Their faces, burning, melting in the flames. He would never forget the image of their skin slowly melting off their faces. Horror in their eyes. There was one thing that Keith didn't understand. He never saw his parents when they died. All of it was in his head. His nightmares. <><><><> Keith Kogane, or Kathrine Kogane as his birth certificate says, is a trans-boy orphan who has gone from house to house, being rejected by all his families. He assumes this one is no different, but what he doesn't know is that this family is (What any family should be like) accepting of his choices. (Ok. I get it, I'm not very good at summaries and such but yeah...don't judge it by the summary. It's a lot better than it sounds ok) Warning. This is a mature story. There is a lot of fluff. And strong language. And depression. You have been warned. If you have a problem with gay, transgender, suicidal thoughts then don't read this book.
