Daniel Stevens finds himself in the aftermath of a full scale nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, after a nuclear warhead detonated in his hometown of Bismarck, North Dakota. After abandoning one of the only people he knew for dead after a trade deal going south, he finds himself becoming a hitman for food and resources for survival, and on the run from the law of the wasteland.
