Katrina Lynch is the eldest of 3 and lives with her parents Mark and Sheila in New Jersey. She seems to have a great life and a happy family, but one thing she's missing out on his her dad. He does live with them, but he always leaves for LA every 3 months. He's basically not there. Kat believes her father is up to something, due to him not taking her or the rest of her family to his second home, where he has to commute back and fourth. She decides to go to LA on her own and find out the secret her father is hiding.
Kat finds love in the city, with a successful teen with the same last name as her, Ross Lynch. The two click instantly and start their romantic summer. But as Kat becomes closer to Ross, she discovers a surprising secret that she never figured out before. Ross and Kat share the same father.
