An illness born from unrequited love.
The patient's throat fills up with a flower, they will proceed to throw and cough up the petals, or even full flowers. It can 'disappear' if, said crush, returns the feeling (it has to be genuine feelings of love). The infection can be removed through surgery but so will all feelings toward that person. If they do not choose the surgery or the feelings aren't returned in time, then the patient's lungs will fill with flowers and suffocate.

Hanahaki is a disease where the affected coughs up the favorite flowers of the one they love, left untreated it can kill in a matter of weeks, you can get a surgery to remove the root, however you will forget everything about your loved one, or never feel love again. More commonly people let it kill them, but this can be avoided by confessing, however if you get rejected, the condition will progress faster and surgery will no longer be an option. The cough will start with a few petals, then progress to the entire flower head, after that a bit of blood, and finally, the entire flower with the stem and blood. If it gets to that point, you likely have days to live. The condition progresses faster or slower depending on how long the love has existed and how strong it is. Some of the warning signs for the disease are high unexplainable fevers along with harsh coughing fits and trouble breathing, these symptoms only occur for the worst cases however, so not everyone will have warning signs. "Great" Asahi sighed with his head in his hands. "Just what I needed." When Asahi gets sick and doesn't recover it's up to him and a few others to figure out what to do before it's too late, only, he has a secret he doesn't want them to know. Some say secrets can kill, but this time it's far too real. (Disclaimer!!! Certain white blood cells and red blood cells go on their journey to experience their feelings as well as the world around them. But what if... the red blood cells wonders off to a dark part of the area and meet someone, an odd cell? What happens then? Will chaos happen? Can the immune cells stop the disease from spreading?
