Meet Umiko. She lost everything when her family died. Her friends, her social life and a piece of herself. She became distant and depressive. The doctors and psychiatrists couldn't do anything to help her get better. The only thing that could get her mind of things were swimming or being in the water.

Meet Haru. He's a strong and quiet boy who have an unnormal passion for swimming and is a 2nd year high school student on Iwatobi High School, where he is a vice-captain on the Iwatobi High School Swimming Team. He doesn't talk much and never seems to show any kind of emotion. 


Umikos Aunt and Uncle, who had been taking care of her after her familys death, decided to send her across the country to live with her childhood friend, Haru, and his parents because they think it might help Umiko.

The only thing they don't know is that Haru lives mostly alone, and his parents only visit a few times a year.
