Everything Hurts
I knew what was coming later tonight, not only at home, but on the way there. I knew that reacting right now would just make it worse though. So I kept quiet and pretended that I was not dreading when I would be alone with the man that stood beside me, wondering when it became so normal to do so. Jason and Alicia have the perfect relationship from the outside looking in, but Alicia has kept her wounded spirit and body hidden well. After another one of Jason's violent rages that is impossible to hide, Alicia is finally able to get away from the abuse though. In the process of healing, she begins to relearn what trust, compassion, and safety are once again - that is, until Jason discovers her whereabouts. Dan is suffering. Torn apart from the stress of his father and school, he tries to take his life. The feeling of freedom is foreign to him being forced into terrible school my his abusive father. Just before Dan is about to jump off a bridge, someone grabs his waist and holds him back. Dylan is just an ordinary boy. Nothing special about him. Average house, family, income. His only difference that separates him from society is one secret tearing him apart. Suicide affects Dylan more then most, so when he see a poor boy about to do it, instincts kick in and he saves Dan's life. Two broken boys struggling to find their place in life. This is the story of an abused teenage girl, Maddie. Her need to die has become overwhelming and she is trying to find a way to help herself before she does something she may regret. The story is told from her point of view as she recalls all that has happened to her. Maybe telling her story will help her, maybe not. This isn't just any other sob story. This is more realistic. You may even find yourself comparing your life to Maddie's while reading this story. Disclosure: I wrote this as a 13-year-old and the writing is definitely not up to my current standards, but I feel as though changing what I have already written would take away from the emotion I put into this story at 13 years old. There's poems describing my feelings and thoughts I want to share with moments of humor included. My stories are about things that's happened in my life that I wanted to tell. Some are silly while others are important to better understand me. There's articles and short essays about my thoughts, ideas, and beliefs surrounding womanhood and my place in the world. My commentaries include notes on these works and gives additional insight on both my mind and my heart. This work is listed as mature and contains materials not suitable for people under 18.

One of the favourite lessons reading books has taught me is that you're never alone, not alteast in thoughts and words. There are others who think like you, feel like you and react like you. It's like that sometimes, our unspoken thoughts are the bridges that connect us, even though we might be miles apart. And so, I've written them down in the hope that there are many out there in this world who would be willing to walk these bridges leading to me-the real, raw and unhidden self I am- my heart and mind and soul.
