Two types of magic divide the world the Tarby family lives in. There are those who practice magic built on tradition set in stone by the ancient spell book and those who dare to experiment and create their own. Those who step outside the confines of the ancient spell book are seen as dangerous troublemakers who have no place in the society created by the powerful elites. Witches who practice experimental magic are often shunned and ridiculed for their beliefs while traditionalists are praised for upholding the status quo.
Like the world they live in, the Tarby family is also divided. In the face of adversity, the siblings were forced to choose a side. The youngest of four, fifteen year-old Meadow is torn between her strict, by the book sisters and her unorthodox, exhibitionist brother. While her two sisters Misty and Millie chose adherence to traditional standards, her brother Markos rejected the ancient teachings and dove deep into experimental magic.
For years, the once inseparable family has been plagued by hatred and division stemming from the sides they've chosen. As the challenges they face become more difficult, the siblings must find a way to come together or be forever broken by a system designed to tear them apart.
