"Layla run damn it child listen to me run!"
My mother growled out at me I rolled my eyes and watched as rogues surrounded us. My eyes glowed green as I threw my hands up sending the rogues flying back as a ring of fire circled my mother and me.
"I won't let you die like daddy died!"
I hissed and used my inhuman speed to run through the fire leaving my mother safe in the circle. If they wanted her they were going to have to go through me.
"Now now Layla you know a ring of fire won't stop me"
I spun around just to see the same guy who killed my father slide a blade across my mother's neck. I screamed in agony and anger. The wind began to blow through the trees lose leaves whirling around me as my magic radiated off me in waves. My eyes glowed green with red flecks and blue flecks. Every part of me was in control at once. I watched as my mother's lifeless body drop to the ground with a thud. My hair flung around my face as the wind got more and more out of control as I raised my hands from my side. The man standing over my mother's body smirked but I could sense the fear rolling off him. He was terrified of the power that was swirling around me.
"We will be back in 150 years to claim your life"
I growled at him before snapping my fingers the wind around me slowly calmed as his body exploded in front of me. The wind carried away his ashes as I ran towards my mother dropped to my knees collapsing beside her. The last thing I saw before I was swept away into the darkness was a single tear on her cheek as her eyes stared back at me lifeless.

I struggled and lashed out at him hoping to cause some, any damage at all that might allow me to escape, instead his grip tightened and a whimper escaped without my consent. His touch burned, or at least I imagined it burning, sizzling my skin until it was burnt to a crisp.
