Life was going well for Catherine Meyer. Her best friend, Desiree Campbell, has exceeded in her hunting skills, all thanks to her, and she hasn't a worry in the world. She's strong, independent, and she would do anything for her family.

One day, Catherine and Desiree are captured while hunting. They are soon brought into the HRA (Human Research Association) to be tested on. Catherine's patience starts to go down as the Association keeps her and Desiree. They have no phone calls to their parents, barley any freedoms, and most importantly, no contact with the outside world.

While Catherine is trying to escape, Ivan Strand, son of the owner of the Association, is trying to get her to understand, and she doesn't want to hear a word about it. But will she, in the end, let his words get in the way of escape? Or will she carry out her word and get back to her beloved family?
