The giant beneath the mountain has awakened after three centuries' slumber and devours some of my fathers' best men every morning. He will continue taking lives, one for every giant our ancient ruler killed to steal his land. But I know this ice giant, this jötunn, as Fell Hallvarðr. He came to me as a regular boy in dreams.

	He rumbles towards the citadel, tall as five men stacked shoulder on shoulder, I hold out a hand.

	"Fell Hallvarðr," I call out, ignoring the screams of horror from the warriors around me, "I place you under my royal protection, as the old ways of Cloelia Regina called upon. None of my people shall harm you so long as I live."

	The people cry out against me, but Fell falls to one knee, dropping me gently to the earth.

	"Then you shall live, little human-traitor." He replies, "in return for what?"

	 "I shall become queen. And you shall fight for me."

Queen Cassia is a royal embarrassment. People snicker at her, knowing her lungs are too weak to draw breath, much less fight. Her parents fear she will not have the strength to undergo the ceremony to become queen, and that the royal line will have to be passed to an outsider. 

But all this is disrupted when the giant beneath the ice mountain, thought to be a myth, awakens and attack their city of Ymir. The rest of the cities along the Borealis are in rebellion against the main kingdom of Idriola, and Cassia aims to earn her birthright by uniting them all.

Prequel to "Legends of Rahasia Series" (Priestess for the Blind God, Princess for the Witch Doctor, Pirate for the Dead Goddess). This is the tale of how Cassia became Cassia Boadicea Regina of Idriola, the ruler of blood and ice. The fearsome matriarch of the North & conqueror-queen.
