In a world with magical regulations and forced military participation, nothing is ever perfect.

Afia, an orphaned prodigy, is forced into a one-on-one magical tutoring program, issued by the Dyrien Empire, that constantly stomps on her creative liberties. She is force-fed the idea that because she is special - with magic - she is a danger to society and must submit to the Dyrien Empire as a human military weapon.

It becomes tiring rather quickly.

Stewing with indignation, Afia plans and executes the murder of the five Dyrien Officials that tutored her.

Then, she flees.
