The Howling

Villette Baker and her younger brother, Emil, are finally starting to recover from the sudden death of their parents. Their family bakery is flourishing, Emil is contemplating college, and Villette is settling into her role as the new head of the family. Life is moving again. But then Emil is taken, kidnapped by a strange man able to wield fire from his fingertips and perform impossible feats with mere words. Suddenly Villette is thrust into a clandestine world her father had sworn he left behind when he began his new life as a family man: a world of magic and demons.
