An enemies-to-lovers retelling of the Irish Selkie myth set in Han dynasty China. Siu Tsau's tiger pelt is as much a curse as it is a blessing. Without it, she is nothing more than a herbalist working alongside her mother in aiding the sick and poor. But with it, she is transformed into the most elusive and coveted beast in the land: a shape-shifting tiger spirit known as a Fu Pei Tsing. But when her mother's cloak is stolen , Siu Tsau turns to the only person that may know the answer. One of the very men who aided in its theft: Tsin Yung. Despite wanting nothing more than to sink her fangs straight into his handsome face, Siu Tsau suppresses her desires and hides her identity, spurting lies and donning a sweet smile to trick the hapless hunter. But as the pair traverse the vibrant land in pursuit of the cloak, Siu Tsau sees a new side to Tsin Yung and his actions. With unintended feelings threatening to ruin her plan for revenge and reveal her true identity as her guide's prey, Siu Tsau learns that keeping her enemies close can have drastically unexpected side effects.
