Stonevale is a tiny, close community in the middle of rural Washington where not much happens. At least, this is how 18 year old Eric Thune see's the small town. He's not happy to be moving to a new place, but he's at least happy he's with his very eccentric Grandfather.
Stonevale is a quiet town that's hiding something sinister underneath. Giant wolves prowl the forest at night, and everyone knows to stay far away from the treeline when the moon is high in the sky. A young girl named Hailey Black goes missing, and is found, relatively unharmed but not at all the same girl she was before.
Eric's grandfather reveals the hidden world of Werewolves and monsters to his young grandson one night, telling him about the long history of Werewolf hunters that they had been in the past, and passes on the family title to him naming him the next "Huntsman". But Eric doesn't want the title, and is adamant about not being The Huntsman, no matter what some stupid story says.
Meanwhile, the one and only ruling pack in Stonevale has just named their next Alpha, and with more and more disappearances happening in the school, it's starting to look like the Wolves are coming for all of Stonevale and not just the occupying forest. Maverick Vale is the next Alpha in a long succession, and he's found his mate in an unsuspecting Eric Thune.
Time is running out for Eric, as Hailey talks more about the Wolves, as his Grandfather tries to pass the family namesake onto him, and as Maverick grows ever stronger and more persistent in getting his mate, he's starting to think maybe this quiet town isn't quite so silent.
