I look up at Phoenix and see a smirk grace his lips. I back up until my back hits the door and he puts his arms above my head trapping me. "What are you gonna do about it Fae?" he asks as he leans forward with his lips inching closer and closer to mine. "I-I don't know." I say while a blush creeps across my cheeks. I reach back behind me fumbling to find the door knob. His eyes close as he leans in even more. I can feel his hot breath fan across my face and my eyes open even wider. Finally! I find the door knob just as his lips brush mine and I open the door. As soon as the knob is turned, the weight of him on the door swings it open and we fall to the floor in a piled heap of tangled limbs. "Gotcha." he says with a dark chuckle. His hands capture mine and holds my hands above my head. My face shows nothing but shock and nervousness as this is not what I was hoping for. Phoenix brings a hand down and caresses my cheek with a finger. My heart races as he traces from my cheek to the side of my neck and I shudder. What the hell have I gotten myself into?

Meridian has dedicated her life to the growth of her pack. When her mate mysteriously shows up in her life, things begin to seem perfect. That is, until unknown enemies threaten the stability of the pack she's worked so hard to build. Will she lose everything, or will her love truly be able to conquer all? "It's crazy, but I saw a wolf in the woods yesterday, and something told me I should follow it. I could, um, smell honey and coconut, and I followed that smell here. You probably think I'm insane," he mumbles, smiling sadly, "and you have guests, so I'll leave now." He must not be a wolf, because we can associate certain scents with friends and loved ones, and he seemed confused by the idea. But I can't deny the sparks we felt when we touched earlier, and before I can help it I'm calling to him. "Wait, please, come inside! I'm Meridian," I smile, holding out my hand. He smiles, saying, "I'm Malachi, nice to meet you," before shaking my hand, making goosebumps spread across my skin at the contact. Clearing my throat as I blush, I step aside and let him enter my home. If he's a human, this is the dumbest thing I've ever done."
