Alice is a loner. Don't let people into your heart and you won't get attached. As a fifteen year old, she shouldn't feel the pain that she has felt.
A accident claims her family away from her. Her close family friends, have to put her in a foster home, for they are unable to take care of her.
The longest she can stay in a home is a month. With one final attempt for her to stay in place, she finds a home in her own small hometown of Forks.
James' family the Turner's don't exactly favor the Smith's who have agreed to take Alice. With no where to turn Alice ends up there.
When conflict pops up about what's best for Alice, Alice doesn't want to stay. She keeps finding reasons to leave which keeps growing more of a possibility. But at the same time Alice doesn't want to leave. Not just her home town, but her new family as well.
Alice's life is going to be turned upside down. And she may just break her number one rule: Never get too attached.
