Ashley Liu hears voices. They've never hurt her, in fact they do their best to help her. Telling her things about the world around her and the people in it. She's never understood how or why they chose her to talk to, but she's not going to complain.
Then something happens. She keeps seeing shadowed figures of pure darkness, always in her peripheral vision.
A jarring sequence of events prompts Chiron to organize a quest, hoping to find answers. But as the trio continues in their quest, they realize that something much bigger is at work than anyone ever guessed.
