A retired Kobold Bard named Jorm is called to a distant kingdom to perform for a king coronation a few weeks ago. The city is lively, with races unseen by Jorm in his homeland, such as the Avali, a race of fluffy, feathery people who are more musically inclined with their four ears. However, when Jorm attends a party thrown by King Ivgan, he becomes disillusioned with the kingdom he finds himself in. When he witnesses a horrific scene, Jorm elects to rescue the captive slave Volvuntur and the two try to escape the wrath of King Ivgan. Will they be able to outrun death? And there might be more than just Ivgan to fear hidden in the shadows of the palace... Rights reserved to their respective properties

The chains that hold one down are not always visible, just like the relentless chains of fate and luck. Diarmuid, a skilled and feared Celtic lancer and a dual - wielder finds himself captured by the Roman troops invading his lands, and shipped away to a Roman city. Enslaved and tortured, he still proves his strength and fierceness in the gladiators arena, charming the eyes of the City's commander and his cousin, both at bad terms with each other, waging a deceptive battle to use the lancer with the vague promise of freedom that slowly starts to dance along the complicated relationships from his present and past, the glory of the hails at the arena, slowly fading into the simple premise of settling and habituation.
