Timothy Scott is a twelve-year-old boy, ostracised by his peers and mocked for his overactive imagination he prefers to be alone. Standing in front of the ugly antique mirror in his hallway, Timothy realises his reflection isn't quite right. Without warning the boy looking back at him drags him through the mirror and takes him to the world of Mielikuvitus. A wonderful world filled with curious creatures and glorious places, Timothy soon learns he is not a stranger to Mielikuvitus.

Meeting Aleobe for the first time, Timothy is introduced to a host of residents of Mielikuvitus who are keen to help him discover the truth about who and what he is. In our world Timothy is overshadowed by his unique perspective, in their world that uniqueness is his path to a power that will help save the land from the Dark Entity. Timothy soon learns the spectral creature of his nightmares is no dream but a vision of a growing evil that threatens to consume Mielikuvitus and cross into our world.

Faced with a choice, Timothy must accept the help offered to him, to grow and become the protector of a foreign land or turn and run.
