"Deku."

"Oh, hey Kacchan!"

"Listen, I'm not in the mood to play games with you, Deku. Remove this shitty string right off me and I'll let this one slide for now."

"What string, Kacchan?" Katsuki took a deep breath, he's definitely not in the mood to deal with this peculiar feeling that the latter kept on making him feel.

Just when he was about to answer, an immediate realization abruptly entered his mind forcefully, making him stiffened at his stance. He stared at his pinky, then right back at Izuku's pinky, then back at his. Why was that string too damn long when he was at their room and when he came closer at Izuku, it became too damn short?

"What the fuck."

Or,

An au where Katsuki saw a bright red string hanging between his and Izuku's pinky and the rollercoaster ride of emotions that string made him feel.

A Maybank and A Cameron? It's almost like a modern Romeo and Juliet. It's forbidden for them to be together. Could be the end of the world. The stolen glances, the hidden feelings, the unspoken words, the secret meetings and the obvious hatred towards each other followed by constant conflicts and some hidden past that threatened them but there are always invisible strings tied and pulling them together no matter how hard the tides trying to pull and part them away from each other.
