"The adrenaline comes banging, forcing its way out. I walk up to a rock, taking a stand. I can see my soldiers staring, their celebration on pause to watch me. I hold my sword high in the air, yelling a triumphant scream. My soldiers mimic me, holding their blades in the air.

I could feel my heart race, my veins burned like a raging fire. My bones ached with excitement, the feeling of victory danced within my heart. But, that feeling faded, bringing me back to reality, this was only the conquest of another fight in this endless war.

"Last night, I had a dream the world ended. Half the population disappeared, and unfathomable eldritch beasts shambled out of an unending darkness." In a world with no sun and bloodthirsty creatures roaming the all consuming dark, the only places still safe are the small compounds that managed to get walls up before all came crashing down. While dangerous, they manage the task fine until one journey out they stumble across a disturbing, gruesome revelation that reveals not only more about the city, but the end of the world as a whole. As the duo begin to pull on the thread and tangle themselves slowly into its snare, they begin to realize there's a lot more to this apocalypse than they ever could have imagined, and that the horrific beasts they've been studying might be the least of their concerns...Complete
