In a fleeting act of desperation, Rey becomes determined to resurrect her lamented love, Ben Solo, the absent Force Ghost. 
Rey's finite choice to bring Ben back to existence leads her with no other strategy than to rely on assistance from the dark side. 

Helpless, Rey infiltrates her inner Palpatine, risking Ben's redemption, and her own fate, in a race against time.
As if surviving the effects of the dark side isn't difficult enough, Rey must also obey the Force and its guidance to lead the entire galaxy in a new era. 

Though she can't manage that responsibility alone; as an empress needs an emperor, Ben and Rey must rise to the occasion before calamity strikes and darkness dominates the galaxy yet again.

A lot of the story follows canon. The biggest difference is there is no Rey. No hate to the character, she just doesn't fit into this retelling!
