His mumbling ceased and he turned around slowly, his hands clenched into a fist. As he spoke, his eyes travelled down her body, assessing her strengths and weaknesses from the way she stood to the weapons she carried. "Have you come to kill me?" his gruff voice asked.

When Hydra's greatest weapon, the winter soldier, escapes their control, they have no choice but to bring in a new spy and assassin to fill her position. Anastasia is quick, deadly and invincible. Experimented on, she has the incredible capability of healing from most injuries, in seconds. Her skills and talents have earned her respect and her reputation is one to be feared, even though she is only fifteen years-old.
When she is given the job of taking out the Hydra's mortal enemies, the Avengers, she prepares herself for every possible situation.
But she is not prepared for the truth that has been hidden from her for so long. And with everything that she has done, how can she find trust and protection when everyone wants her dead or in a cage?

Tony smiled, clearly struggling to keep his voice steady as he hopped off his chair to kneel in front of me, taking my scarred hands in his rough ones. "Having you in our lives makes it more of an adventure. We wouldn't ever want you to leave, you are one of us okay? You're like a daughter to me, to all of us - hey, why are you crying?" "I'm sorry." I sniffled, roughly wiping the tears off my cheeks before I let him wrap me up in a hug. "I just never felt like belonged anywhere before and to hear you say that... it just means a lot to me." "Well, it's true Emily." Bruce smiled back as he put his hand on my shoulder as I kept my head buried into Tony's chest, saturating his shirt with my tears. - SHE WAS A SWEET, ROTTEN THING. Born dead, tossed in a metal coffin, reborn as an experiment, Subject RED was destined for great things. Not a child, not a girl, but a weapon. But what she would become was not a mere resuscitation of life. No, she was transformed, shaped by the hands of those who saw potential in her very existence. A puppet, perhaps, in their grand design, but also something more. A creation of flesh and bone, yes, but also of steel and secrets. Subject RED was not sweet innocence; that had been extinguished long before her rebirth. Her sweetness was tainted by the darkness that clung to her, a reminder of the life she had left behind, a life that had been snuffed out like a candle in the night. Rotten, in the sense that she had been marred by the hands that had sought to shape her into a tool of power. "This is the child of two of the most dangerous people on the planet, she mustn't be underestimated." HYDRA and the Red Room's most ambitious project yet, their whispers about her were no more than the sweet lullabies of her childhood as she was nursed with their needles, rocked by their punches and weaned on their commands. She would be better then her predecessors. She would be trained, raised and molded to best them in every which way imaginable. And when she had had completed the last step of the program, she would kill them. Her makers, her progenitors, her parents. And then, Subject RED would help HYDRA and the Red Room heel the world to their feet. WOUNDS WE LEAVE SERIES book 2 - mature content ahead! copyright! 2019 © - aka don't steal my story!
