all ashton's been doing lately is trying to get through the day and please his abusive stepfamily, who's bestowed every task upon him. when the whole school- including himself, receives an invitation from castle preparatory school royalty- the chens, he doesn't think too much about it until he meets a stranger in the school's restroom. the problem is, his stepfamily is determined to make sure he doesn't set a foot near charlotte chen, no matter what they have to do in order to make sure it doesn't happen. for the first time he's willing to crack the glass of his obedient shell and find his own happily ever after.
