On the streets of Paris, the people are gathering. Mothers cannot feed their children whilst the King lives in the most opulent palace ever seen. Plans, prayers and rumours of revolution whisper through the stormy air which hangs above the city.

'This is a story of freedom and of war, of love and of hate ... This is a story about the constant life that clings to the earth without surrender and about what we are licensed to do with our share....' 
How much can one person be allowed to do in order to change the world? How much can be forgiven? And when the bored and the dying collaborate to take down a nation, can anyone win at all?
