The Melbourne Mixtape is a collection of memoirs, musings and more poetic stories I've written over many years. I will be adding memoirs to this book as chapter instalments week by week. The initial chapter features humour and satirical elements, as it deals with getting older from a male perspective. Subsequent chapters will probably be more melancholy. My stories in a general sense are often more creative nonfiction or literary nonfiction in style with content suitable for mature readers. Themes: hiphop, drug use, lost loves, lost friendships, family, race, religion, all of which will be framed from an Australian perspective, specifically Melbourne. At this point, I could add as many as 10-15 memoirs over the next few months. Their lengths will vary and I will be editing them as I go, so they are subject to change. I apologise for the quality of some of the work as I'm kind of just writing them here in the app and then posting them as I go. If anybody is to read them please feel free to comment and critique as much or as little as you like. And hopefully I can earn some votes along the way. Cheers! : )

I decided to write this memoir for my kids. Kalina, Braylon and Bryce. I wanted them to know how I grew up and what all happened when I was a child. Maybe one day they can sit down and read this little book and remember MOMMA. I want to also apologize if this memoir offends any family member, every one has their memories of events in their lives. Let me tell mines as I lived them and as they were told to me by other family members during my lifetime. This book is filled with traumatic yet funny memories of my upbringing. It's a tell all from what I went through, in my eyes not anyone else's. Hope you enjoy reading this as I've enjoyed writing it. It's not meant to seek pity, instead it's written to shine light on the real problems of society. poverty, single moms, the damage due to drugs, incest, abuse and most of all, origins of brokenness. We all have a story to tell, mine is of survival. It didn't happened to me it happened for my good. God is good!! Be blessed.
