I saw this WP on Reddit, and I had a lightbulb moment. Since the age of 14, you've noticed a monster stalking you. A few years later, you've noticed it seems very protective over you and will go through extreme measures to protect you. It's usually friendly, but it seems threatening when your childhood friend is around. I changed "Monster" to a shadow, but is it a shadow really? Since a young teen, Damien has always noticed s͟o͟m͟e͟t͟h͟i͟n͟ ͟g, that something is a figure in the corner of his eyes. He thought he was just going crazy, till one day it appears before him. He decided to confront this figure, but gets a weird outcome. "𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 𝐼 𝑎𝑚?" "I don't know, you're like a shadow, always following me," I mumble under my breath. "𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑑𝑜𝑤,"

Sonic spotted Shadow outside of the village one day. Curious, he decided to follow him to see what is up with the dark hedgehog. After finding out the reason why Shadow likes being alone in that one particular cave, he decided to stick around and company him. It makes Sonic realize that Shadow isn't really that evil and it also makes him grow closer to the dark hedgehog. SFW book.

This story begins with a Kid named Max. To Max he doesn't think himself as being anyone who has an important role in the world, Max thinks he's normal but not normal enough to fit in and that he will never rise to be something better than normal. But what Max doesn't know is that the world would need him, even if he was ready or not. There is a terrible evil coming, and it will be our demise if there isn't a hero to save us. Our fate, our future, our world as we know it lies in his hands and his will to believe in himself, and our abilities to believe in him.

Tristan steals shadows to make familiars out of them. It was all completely harmless until he stole the shadow from a demon, effectively stripping away all of their powers. Now Gregor is stranded in a dimension not his own without magic. Tristan agrees to help him get home, the least he could do because it was mostly his fault (and totally not because he has a crush on Gregor, or because of Gregor's compulsion magic or because he kissed him.) But then everything goes wrong when they get attacked by fire elementals who work for the demon Earl Alfred of Aleman who is also after Gregor's magic. The elemental manages to steal the shadow and now Gregor and Tristan must travel through different dimensions to get the shadow back and slip the Earl and his henchmen in the process.
