Katherine Pierce has little spies everywhere. In every city. She gives them orders and they obey. They help her achieve her plans and stay alive.
The reason why her little compelled puppets are so loyal is because she always goes for the broken, angry victims. She turns their lives upside down with all the power she promises they'll have once she turns them into vampires. And Maria is one of them.
It's Maria, Pablo and Leyla for Beacon Hills. Those are the three puppets for this city.
Once Maria was turned by Katherine she learned the rules fast and obeyed. She knew not to mess with Katherine Pierce. From the beginning on she never thought of betraying her. I mean Katherine gave her this whole new life that madeso much more sense and fun now and the only thing she had to do in return was watch yhe city and fulfill tasks when Katherine orders them.
But some of her plans get disrupet by the McCall Pack or specifically one Beta, Brett Talbot.
